SecuX W10 hardware wallet: a USB touchscreen cold wallet for crypto and NFTs

The SecuX W10 hardware wallet keeps the private keys for your crypto and NFTs on a device with a 2.8-inch colour touchscreen and an Infineon SLE Solid Flash CC EAL5+ Secure Element chip. It connects to a computer through its USB Micro-B port and is managed in the SecuXess web app. SecuX lists support for 10,000+ coins and tokens and up to 500 accounts.

What the SecuX W10 hardware wallet does

  • Protects the private key: an Infineon SLE Solid Flash CC EAL5+ Secure Element chip is built in.
  • Shows what you sign: the 2.8-inch touchscreen gives you your portfolio at a glance and lets you visually confirm the address while making a transaction.
  • Dynamic keypad: PIN entry uses a dynamic keypad, and the wallet resets itself after more than 5 unsuccessful PIN entry attempts.
  • Hidden wallet: a personal passphrase generates an additional wallet with its own PIN.
  • 10,000+ coins and tokens: on 300+ chains, with NFT support on Ethereum.
  • Up to 500 accounts: multiple accounts per chain, with account balances shown on the wallet.

Who the SecuX W10 hardware wallet suits and what it works with

SecuX describes the W10 as its USB-only hardware wallet, so it is a wallet for use at a computer. It works with Mac OS 10.13.6+, Windows 10, Linux or Chrome OS through the SecuXess web app in Chrome V.71+ or Opera V.57+. It has no battery and no wireless connection, so it must be connected to a computer or a power source while you use it.

For a model with an integrated battery, SecuX points to the V20 or W20, and the W20 adds Bluetooth and phone support. The W10C-PLUS is the USB-C version of this wallet and adds aluminium seed plates and an engraver.

Does the SecuX W10 hardware wallet have a battery?

No. SecuX states that the W10 does not come equipped with a battery and that it must be connected to a power source or a computer for operation.

Does the SecuX W10 hardware wallet work with a phone?

SecuX lists the W10 for computers only. Its specification shows no wireless connection, and its comparison table shows USB and the SecuXess web app for the W10, without Bluetooth or the mobile app.

How is the recovery phrase created?

During setup the device generates 24 recovery words and shows them 6 at a time, so that you can write them on the recovery sheets in the box. It then asks you to confirm all 24. SecuX lists the BIP32, BIP39 and BIP44 standard with 12, 18 or 24 recovery words.

What is in the SecuX W10 hardware wallet box?

SecuX lists the W10 wallet, a USB cable, a SecuX black pouch, 2 recovery sheets and a Quick Start Guide.

How does the SecuX W10 hardware wallet differ from the W10C-PLUS?

The W10 has a USB Micro-B port and paper recovery sheets. The W10C-PLUS has a USB-C port, and SecuX packs it with aluminium seed plates and an engraver. SecuX publishes the same size, weight, Secure Element chip and computer compatibility for both.
