TENDA TFC300A Gigabit Single-Mode Media Converter

The Tenda TFC300A is a Gigabit single-mode, single-fiber media converter that converts electrical Ethernet signals to optical signals for long-distance runs over fiber, commonly used to extend wired networks or IP camera/NVR systems beyond standard copper distance limits (up to 3km on single-mode fiber).

It uses WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technology to send and receive over a single fibre strand instead of two, halving fiber cabling costs on a run. The TFC300A is the "A" unit of a matched pair, transmitting at 1550nm and receiving at 1310nm; it must be paired with a TFC300B unit (transmitting 1310nm / receiving 1550nm) at the other end of the same fiber link, the two are not interchangeable.
