TENDA AC1200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Range Extender

The Tenda A18 is a dual-band range extender designed to eliminate Wi-Fi dead zones in larger homes, Tenda rates it for two-storey houses and multi-room properties over 120 square metres. It boosts your existing network's signal on both bands simultaneously: up to 300Mbps on 2.4GHz and up to 867Mbps on 5GHz, for a combined AC1200 class connection.

Two external omnidirectional antennas help push the boosted signal further and through more walls than the small internal antennas found on plug-in-only extenders. Setup is quick via a web browser or the Tenda WiFi app, and the A18 can run in Repeater mode (rebroadcasting your router's existing Wi-Fi) or Access Point mode (creating a new network from a wired Ethernet connection).

Note that its Ethernet port runs at 100Mbps rather than gigabit, so it's best suited to extending wireless coverage rather than wiring up a gigabit-speed device at the far end.
