The Teltonika TRB142 is an ultra-compact LTE Cat 1 gateway built around an RS232 serial interface, designed to add cellular connectivity to legacy serial equipment such as POS terminals, industrial controllers, and metering hardware. It bridges serial data to IP over the mobile network while running RutOS, giving it VPN (OpenVPN, IPsec, PPTP, GRE), firewall, MQTT, and SMS control features alongside digital input and relay output for basic monitoring/control tasks. Low power draw (up to 5W) and a -40C to 75C rated aluminium housing make it suitable for remote or unattended serial-to-cellular deployments.
