In a semi-automatic PCP rifle like the Snowpeak M40, the valve assembly takes a massive beating. Every time you pull the trigger, the hammer strikes the back of the steel valve pin (or stem), momentarily pushing the valve open. A burst of compressed air escapes past the valve to propel the pellet down the barrel, and the pressure inside the chamber snaps it shut instantly afterward.

The RNS45046 Assembly typically features the core high-pressure internal valve components, centered around a factory poppet valve.

• Construction: Made of a hardened stainless steel pin integrated into a dense, high-impact synthetic sealing head (usually Delrin/POM or PEEK plastic). This specialized plastic is tough enough to withstand thousands of hammer impacts without flattening, yet soft enough to form a perfect, airtight seal against the valve seat.

• Signs of Failure: If your M40 is leaking air directly down the barrel when filled, or if you notice a sudden drop in muzzle velocity and consistency, the valve face is likely pitted, scratched, or the stem is slightly bent.
