The Nextorch TA20 is the pocket-sized member of the TA family. At 100 mm and 89 grams it disappears into a jacket or trouser pocket, yet its Osram P9 LED delivers 1,000 lumens on high with a beam that reaches about 210 metres.

Practical use

High is for checking a noise outside or lighting a path at distance; the 190-lumen medium covers most tasks for around 2.5 hours; the 24-lumen low runs about 24 hours for camp chores and power cuts. A half press of the tail switch gives momentary light and a full press gives strobe. The stainless bezel carries nano-ceramic strike points for breaking a window in an emergency.

Key features

  • 1,000 lm high, 190 lm medium, 24 lm low, plus strobe

  • Rechargeable 16340 battery (800 mAh) with built-in USB-C port; also runs on CR123A
