This specific variant (model C28PCBL2) stands out with its CPM-SPY27 blade steel and distinctive cobalt blue FRN (fiberglass-reinforced nylon) handle.

Spyderco developed CPM-SPY27 in collaboration with Crucible Industries as a proprietary powder metallurgy steel. The result is an excellent balance of edge retention, toughness, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening — ideal for a pocket knife that sees frequent use.

The blade features a full-flat grind for superior slicing performance, a satin finish, and Spyderco’s signature Round Hole for fast one-handed opening (thumb or “Spydie flick”).
